Holiday 2018 Sampler
I've been making wine from The Shop since the first vintage of B Kosuge Wines in 2004. Over the years I've done a lot of tinkering and, over the years, have added several other wines from the same patch of land. Two Pinot Noirs, Gamay and a Pinot Noir/Gamay Rosé. But I've never offered them side by side--until now, that is.
The various permutations of The Shop happened gradually, and without a plan. The Shop Pinot Noir has evolved a bit since the first few years, gradually becoming less extracted than the early years, and possibly not quite as ripe. These changes were partly in response to the vintages--some years are riper than others--but also part of the evolution of my winemaking and preferences. Eventually a second Pinot Noir was born, based on the concrete aged wine that I began making as a blending component. Then the Gamay came along. A Rosé appeared also, from juice bled from the fermentors.
Here's your chance to taste the three reds that hail from the 3.5 acre plot known as The Shop. The Shop, El Galpon (aged entirely in concrete) and Gamay Noir. Each a different expression of Carneros, The Shop, and the soils on which they are grown. Four bottles of each wine for a mixed case. Shipping is included in the price of the case.
