2014 "The Habitat" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

2014

Price: $45.00
Qty.

This wine is entirely from Paul and Kathryn Sloan's Barlow Homestead Vineyard, located just northwest of Sebastopol. Planted at 3630 vines per acre on Goldridge soil, organically farmed and meticulously tended, this is a remarkable site and one that I am proud to work with. In fact, other the Sloans' own Small Vines label, I am the only other producer with access to this fruit. I include a healthy dose of whole clusters in the fermentation, but equally important is what I do not add--no cultured yeast, no cultured bacteria, no acid or anything else. The fruit has all it needs. The wine is rich, but also fresh, deeply fruited with a little streak of earthiness that keeps it interesting, finishing with a little grip from the stems and whole bunches. It's special stuff.
